Introduction
We are Lewis and Travis. We met on an online dating website in 2012. Initially, we were taken aback by our different interests and hobbies. However, those differences have kept our conversations lasting and our connection deep. Our relationship grew year after year, and in 2016 we were married. We have a very loving marriage and we’re always supportive of each other through good times and bad. We make each other better people and bring out the best in each other. One thing we have shared since the beginning of our relationship was our desire to have children.
It was our greatest wish to start a family to share in our love and wonderful life we have built together. We were so blessed when we adopted our daughter, Florence, over a year ago. She is the light of our lives and a beautiful young soul. We are excited to embark on this journey once again…
About Lewis
Lewis is determined and a hard worker as well as being loving, caring and encouraging. He is a contract manager for a government contractor. Lewis is a great person with a huge heart who will always go out of his way to put a smile on anyone’s face. When it comes to family, no favor is too big or small. He would go to the ends of the earth to help a family member, and will always make time to be a supportive father, brother, uncle and son.
Lewis spends his nights and weekends teaching yoga. He finds it deeply fulfilling to help others find peace through yoga. He has been studying the art since 1999 and has been teaching since 2009. Lewis also enjoys bike rides and travel. Some of his favorite things to do while we travel is try new foods from different countries.
Above all else, he is the most amazing father. He is a wonderful role model and dad to Florence. He enjoys taking her to the beach and on walks with our dog. He is so excited to welcome another baby into our family.
About Travis
Travis is the most thoughtful and caring person I ever met. He has made a career in the U.S. Army. He truly goes out of his way for others, whether it be a shoulder to cry on, helping to move furniture, or a place to stay during hard times, his family and friends know they can always count on him.
Travis loves do-it-yourself projects. He is very crafty and enjoys working with his hands. He has built outdoor furniture, outdoor hardscapes, and multiple bookshelves for our home. Travis is naturally curious. His curiosity has led him to travel the world and explore different cultures and environments.
Children are naturally drawn to Travis, and it was no different with Florence. She absolutely adores him and looks up to him in so many ways. He is a fantastic dad and is so thrilled to make new memories and traditions as a family of four.
Our Family
Our daughter, Florence, is a passionate, inquisitive, and independent lady. She is kind, loving, and energetic. She has always been very tender towards babies and animals and is quick to shower them with kisses and hugs. She loves working on puzzles and building with blocks and is quick to show her cousins and friends at school the right way to do the puzzles. Her absolute favorite thing to do is dance. As soon as the beat drops, she is the first one out of her seat to dance. Her laughter and joy is infectious and always brightens everyone’s day. She doesn’t know it yet, but she is going to be the best big sister!
My parents are loving and devoted grandparents. They have spent their retirement teaching their grandchildren and taking time to play with them. The kids absolutely adore them both, they are eager to see what the future holds.
My sister, Jessica, is an accountant. She is married to Korey who works for a home security company. Together they have two adorable children, Devin, 5 and Shae, 2. We love spending the holidays and birthdays as a family. Everyone is excited to welcome a new baby cousin!
My brother Stuart and his wife Michelle are a fun, loving couple with 2 beautiful children and one on the way! Mason, 7 and Scarlet, 3 are such a joy to be with and will be great teachers to their cousin. Stuart is a database engineer and Michelle stays home with the kids. She also has a craft business she runs from home. They are the best aunt and uncle!
My parents, Cathy and Greg, have been wonderful parents and role models on how to make a marriage last through thick and thin for 41 years. My mom was a retail security and store manager. My dad is a retired Marine and has been working in law enforcement for 40 years. My mom was fiercely protective of her family and was always there to offer support or provide life lessons. Unfortunately, she passed away recently and is sorely missed every day. Her presence and memory is apart of our everyday lives. My dad is the practical person in our family. He is a problem solver and has to make sure things are always running smoothly.
Above all else, they have always encouraged me to do the very best that I can. They were supportive of my dreams and decisions in life. My dad is a wonderful grandfather and loves his family unconditionally. The grandchildren keep him young and he looks forward to keeping the positive energy alive!
My sister, Sally, is my best friend. She is a hair stylist and one of the most creative people I know. Her husband, Daniel, is a physical therapist assistant. They have three beautiful daughters, Brooklyn, 6, Presley, 3 and Adeline, 9 months. The girls love Florence so much. They play together at family barbecues and birthday parties. The growth of our family has been a true joy to all!
We hope that in reading this letter and looking at the special times that we have shared that you have some sense of who we are. We would be so blessed to be chosen as adoptive parents. We promise to provide a loving and supportive home, a place to grow, learn, love and be loved. He or she will be guided to blossom into their own unique person, celebrate their given talents, and pursue what brings them joy. Our home is a place of comfort, where a warm hug will always be waiting.
The things that matter the most — unconditional love, encouragement, support, respect and trust — is what our marriage is built on and our family will grow with the same ideals.
We are excited about this new phase in our journey together and look forward to bringing another child into our lives. We are honored to be considered as adoptive parents and we would love the opportunity to meet with you.
